Early Life

Not much is known about Brad Hambrick’s background, but he grew up in a small farming community in western Kentucky near the Mississippi River. He grew up with a younger brother, and he became a Christian at the age of nine. Brad says, “Even though I didn’t fully understand, I knew I was a sinner and needed Jesus’ help. The simple truths of the gospel changed my heart and my life’s direction.”


After finishing high school, Brad went to Union University, which was his first step into ministry. During that time, he worked as a Middle School Youth Director and Director of Urban Outreach at Calvary Baptist Church.

Sallie Hambrick is married to Brad Hambrick. They met during his last year at Union University. After that, they moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina to go to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). Brad finished his M.Div in Biblical Counseling and a Th.M. in applied theology at SEBTS. They have two sons together.


Brad and his wife left SEBTS to work at Crossroads Counseling in Augusta, Georgia. Then, in January 2011, they moved back to Raleigh-Durham, NC. Brad became the Pastor of Counseling at The Summit Church and also taught Biblical Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 2012, they launched Bridgehaven Counseling Associates, a ministry to provide care for members of The Summit Church and the community.
