Education
Dr. Steve Houpe served in the U.S. Navy for three years and is a Vietnam Veteran. He earned a degree in Business Management from Rose State College. Dr. Houpe was ordained through Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additionally, he obtained a degree in Biblical Studies from Friends Christian University and received a Doctorate of Divinity in 1989.

Dr. Donna Houpe, the First Lady and Executive Administrator of Harvest Church and Faith Academy, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Southern University. She also holds a Masters Degree in education from Louisiana State University. Dr. Houpe, with over 29 years of experience in educating children, aims to help every child fulfill their purpose and destiny according to God’s plan.
The couple is blessed with six children: Stephen, Justin, Benjamin, Darell, Christa, and Jonathan.
Family Life
In 1986, Pastor Houpe followed the guidance of the Spirit to start Harvest Church Ministry in Kansas City, Missouri, even though he had never been to Kansas before. The vision given by God for Harvest Church was to “restore lost humanity back to God.” Pastor Steve believes strongly in the church’s responsibility for soul-winning, building up the Body of Christ, and ministering healing to all people.
Bishop Houpe has made a significant impact on the Kansas City metropolitan area for nearly three decades.
Additionally, Bishop Houpe founded Harvest Community Development Corporation, Inc. (HCDC) and initiated Project Destiny, a multi-phased development plan. Project Destiny aims to address community needs by offering affordable housing, medical facilities, support services, educational opportunities, and entrepreneurial development.
Completed phases of Project Destiny include a Senior Citizen living facility, Gymnasium and Activity Center, Restaurant, and a home for unwed teen mothers. Still in progress are its Career Development and Training Center, Family Residential Subdivision, and more.
