Pastor Rich, whose full name is Richard Peterson Wilkerson Jr., grew up in a deeply Christian family. He hails from four generations of pastors in his family on both his mother’s and father’s sides. His second cousin was David Wilkerson, the well-known author of the Christian book, The Cross and the Switchblade.
His parents, Robyn and Rich Wilkerson Sr., lead Trinity Church, a large church in Miami that’s part of the Assemblies of God. Despite his family’s strong religious background, Rich didn’t have a personal encounter with God until he was 17 years old. This experience marked the beginning of Rich wholeheartedly embracing and dedicating himself to not just following Jesus, but answering the call to serve.

Pastor Wilkerson Jr. got his bachelor’s degree from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Family Life
Rich is married to DawnCheré Wilkerson. They got married in 2006 after Rich finished university. When DawnCheré was 25, she discovered it would be tough to have kids. They waited for eight years before having their first child.
Now, they are parents to three children: Wyatt, Wilde, and Waylon.
Ministry
After finishing university and tying the knot, Rich and his wife, DawnCheré, went to Miami to work at Trinity Church with Rich’s parents.
From 2007 to 2015, Rich led the young adult meetings at Trinity called Rendezvous. The attendance went from twelve people to over 1,000 during his leadership. Even though Rendezvous continues, Rich and his wife now lead their own church, Vous (short for Rendezvous).
Rich Wilkerson Jr. and DawnCheré lead Vous Church, a faith community in Miami devoted to loving God and serving people. Vous stands out by blending elements of contemporary popular culture, attracting young individuals.
In 2014, Wilkerson officiated the wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, a highly publicized event. Kanye had attended a Vous service after being invited by Chris Julian, a Trinity attendee who co-owned a boutique where Kanye shopped. The attention from the wedding made Wilkerson and DawnCheré known in both Christian and secular communities.
Oxygen network aired a reality show named “Rich In Faith,” featuring the couple for ten episodes in 2015 and 2016.
