Pastor Nick Nilson was born in Beloit, Wisconsin. While there’s not much information about his family, his early life was all about football. His natural athletic ability and skills as a running back got him scholarship offers from Division 1 universities.
Unfortunately, his college plans were put on hold due to a severe knee injury. According to Nilson, this forced him to reconsider his future, leading him on a journey to discover his purpose.
At the age of 18, Nilson decided to leave behind the partying and seeking popularity. Instead, he set his sights on becoming a pastor.

After finishing college in Rockford, Illinois, Nilson moved to Houston, Texas. He served as Lakewood Church’s youth and young adult pastor for 12 years before becoming the Associate Pastor.
Pastor Nick has been with Lakewood Church, led by Joel Osteen, for over 12 years. He started as an intern in the Lakewood youth ministry, where he learned everything about being a pastor. He now pastors the youth and young adult session.
