Biography

Ed Young, born in Canton, North Carolina, is the eldest son of Dr. Homer Edwin Young, who served as the senior pastor of Second Baptist Church Houston in Texas. Dr. Edwin Homer Young Sr. was married to Jo Beth Landrum.

While there is limited information about Ed Young’s upbringing, he felt called to ministry at an early age. Ed Young comes from a family with a strong history of ministry, particularly his well-known pastor and author father, Ed Young Sr. This family legacy has significantly influenced his own journey.

Pastor Young is married to Lisa Young, and they have four children: LeeBeth, EJ, Laurie, and Landra. Sadly, LeeBeth passed away in 2021. Together, they serve as the senior pastors of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas.

Lisa Young is not only a pastor but also a passionate speaker focusing on women’s issues. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and is an author. Some of her co-authored works include:

Fellowship Church

Pastor Ed Young felt the call to ministry during his second year at Florida State University. He then returned to Houston and transferred to Houston Baptist University, where he worked as an associate pastor at his father’s church.

Fellowship Church started in February 1990 in a rented office complex before moving to an arts center. In 1996, they moved to Irving’s MacArthur High School to accommodate the growing congregation.

The Church’s first permanent facility, situated on a 141-acre property in Grapevine, Texas, opened in 1998. In 2003, Fellowship Church expanded with satellite locations in Plano and Fort Worth, TX. Two years later, a third satellite campus opened in Dallas, Texas.

In May 2006, Fellowship Church added a satellite campus in South Miami, FL, and another in North Port, Florida, in 2017. In August 2018, Journey Church in Norman, OK, became Fellowship Church Norman.

In 2008, Fellowship Church established its first summer camp and retreat center, Allaso Ranch, in Hawkins, TX.

Outreach

Firstly, Pastor Ed Young organizes the yearly leadership conference, Creative Church Culture Conference, also known as the C3 conference.

The C3 conference is held annually for two days at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas. Pastor Ed and Lisa initiated the C3 Conference and C3 Global for pastors and leaders to enhance their effectiveness, expand their capacity, and grow local churches.

C3 Global aims to unite the Church, share ideas, provide support, and encourage each other to fulfill the vision God has given them to reach their communities.

Secondly, in 2010, when Haiti was struck by an earthquake, Fellowship Church and C3 Global provided relief. The church has, to date, supplied almost 11 million meals in partnership with C3 Global.

Thirdly, Fellowship Church hosts an annual retreat for Gold Star families with America’s Mighty Warriors, featuring past guests like Rick Perry, Glenn Beck, and Mike Huckabee.

Additionally, in 2016, Fellowship Church launched its first prison campus, God Behind Bars. Since then, the church has opened two more prison campuses. In 2017, Fellowship Church participated in relief and recovery efforts for those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
